MIAMI – The Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup concluded with three teams booking their spots in the tournament and two others advancing to the FIFA Play-Off Tournament, including Jamaica who remains in the hunt for a World Cup berth.
The Reggae Boyz came close to earning the direct qualification in the Final Round, finishing second in Group B.
Jamaica began its campaign in the Second Round by finishing first in Group E with a 4-0-0 record, earning wins over Dominican Republic, Dominica, the British Virgin Islands and Guatemala.
With consecutive shutout wins over Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica began the Final Round in first place. A 2-nil loss to Curaçao in the October window made the race a bit tighter approaching the final matchdays.
After a shocking 1-1 draw against Trinidad in Tobago, thanks to a late goal from the Soca Warriors, Jamaica’s fate would come down to the final matchday.
With the home fans backing them in Kingston, Jamaica played to a scoreless draw against Curaçao in the final qualifier, which sent the Blue Wave directly into the World Cup and the Reggae Boyz into the six-team Play-Off tournament.
Jamaica was drawn into Pathway 1 of the FIFA Play-Off Tournament. The Concacaf side will meet New Caledonia, with the winner advancing to face DR Congo for the World Cup ticket.
