Rob Edwards was coy on Angel Gomes' long-term future at Wolves.

The England international joined on deadline day on loan from French side Marseille until the end of the season. Wolves hold a £6million summer option that, according to ExpressAndStar.com, is not dependent on staying up, with relegation viewed as likely and any permanent stay needing negotiation with the player.

Asked if Gomes was committed to remain beyond this season regardless of division, Edwards said they would first see how the player feels about the situation.

The head coach added that the matter would be dealt with further down the line.

He indicated talks with Gomes would take place later in the season regarding the option to buy.
