The saga between Rob Edwards, Middlesbrough and Wolves continues, and Boro fans are not happy.
The saga between Rob Edwards, Middlesbrough and Wolverhampton Wanderers has taken another twist.
Wolves sacked manager Vitor Pereira last weekend, following their 3-0 defeat away at Fulham, leaving the club sitting at rock bottom of the Premier League with two points picked up across their opening ten games.
After talks of a shock Gary O'Neil return cooled, the top-flight outfit have since turned their attention to Middlesbrough head coach Rob Edwards, who made over 100 appearances in Old Gold, and even spent time as interim manager in 2016 following the sacking of Walter Zenga.

Reports on Thursday suggested that Boro had declined the opportunity for Wolves to speak to Edwards; however, another twist has emerged in the ongoing saga.
Ahead of Boro's home clash with Birmingham City this weekend, The Northern Echo reports that the press conference scheduled for 1pm on Friday has been cancelled, plunging his future into further doubt.
Middlesbrough fans are understandably not happy, with some saying that there is "no way back" for the manager.
Boro's stance on Thursday was that Edwards would be staying on Teesside. The cancellation of the press conference has raised theories among the fanbase that he is aiming to force a move to the Black Country.
While Edwards has an understandable emotional connection to Wolves, Boro fans are understandably furious with his conduct, with the common word among reactions being "rat".
With Middlesbrough sat third in the Championship after a positive start to the season, the ongoing situation is understandably a frustrating one for supporters, and as echoed by many, "lines have been crossed".
For the second year running, Wolves have found themselves winless after 10 Premier League outings. However, this time, they are without the dynamism of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri, with the former almost single-handedly dragging the club to safety last term.
Since Nuno Espírito Santo's departure in 2021, every Wolves manager since has echoed concerns regarding recruitment following the sales of high-profile players. Ruben Neves, Pedro Neto, Matheus Nunes, Cunha, Ait-Nouri and more have all moved on to pastures new, while Wolves have continued to sink.

As of now, Championship football will likely be played at Molineux next term. And with Middlesbrough looking a side capable of challenging at the top end of the division, there is even the possibility of the two clubs swapping places in the English football pyramid.
Boro fans are furious with the saga revolving around Edwards. However, the upcoming international break hands the club an ample opportunity to get their appointment right, and reset.
The Teessiders could well have the last laugh come May, with Wolves potentially condemned to the second tier, and Boro one of the contenders to reach the top flight for the first time since 2016.
