Wolves have sacked head coach Rob Edwards, with Cesar Peixoto set to take over at Molineux. His departure was announced on social media at 11.15am.
Edwards was informed this morning. His tenure lasted a little more than 200 days, and chairman Nathan Shi said it had been an extremely difficult decision.
Wolves are now moving for Peixoto, currently in charge of Portuguese side Gil Vicente.
The exit caps a hectic spell. On Saturday the club announced Matt Doherty would leave at the end of his contract after a 13-year association. By late Tuesday night the Raul Jimenez deal was confirmed, while Kieran Trippier was also signed this week.
News that Edwards would be relieved of his duties emerged overnight before the official announcement. With Peixoto in the frame, attention now turns to finalising the change.
