Robert Lewandowski scored a penalty as Poland secured their place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the expense of Sweden.

Lewa's 49th minute penalty - cooly converted after Grzegorz Krychowiak was chopped down in the box - was his 75th goal at international, making him the third highest European goalscorer at international level.

The game was then put to bed by a Piotr Zielinski in the 72nd minute, capitalising on some slack Swedish defending to fire home.

While Sweden largely dominated possession throughout the game, but Poland looked the more likely to score throughout the tie, and looked comfortable after Lewa opened the scoring.

The result almost surely means that Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not play at a World Cup ever again. Ibrahimovic will retire from international football as Sweden's all-time top scorer, having scoring 62 goals in 120 games for his country.
