Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly willing to take over Tottenham Hotspur as new manager immediately.
De Zerbi has emerged as one of the top candidates to replace Igor Tudor, who was sacked on Sunday after a disastrous spell in North London.
The Italian is available for hire after leaving Marseille as head coach in February.
It was suggested that De Zerbi wouldn’t be willing to step in for the final few matches of the season and may prefer to wait until the summer.
However, Sky Italy report he is prepared to join the relegation-threatened club immediately.
BREAKING: Roberto de Zerbi is open to joining Tottenham as head coach now, according to Sky Italy 🚨–
The Lilywhites could face opposition from several supporters’ groups, who have expressed concern about De Zerbi’s previous public support for Mason Greenwood.
Greenwood had charges of attempted rape and assault dropped in February 2023 when he was a Manchester United player.
Sean Dyche is another contender to fill the managerial vacancy at Tottenham.
Dyche was sacked by Nottingham Forest last month, but he has the experience of helping clubs avoid relegation, including Everton and Burnley.
Tottenham are currently just a point above the relegation zone with just seven games remaining in the season.
They appointed Tudor to replace Thomas Frank last month, but it proved to be a disastrous call.
The Croatian picked up just one point from six Premier League matches, leaving the club in serious danger of relegation.
