The 27-year-old defender completed the full match in Celtic’s 0-0 draw with David Gray’s side at Celtic Park, marking his second start for Hoops in his fourth appearance, while Kieran Tierney remained an unused substitute.
Rodgers expressed his satisfaction with Saracchi’s performance, commending the Boca Juniors loanee who is spending the remainder of this season with Celtic.
Speaking to BBC Sport Scotland about the growing partnerships between players within his Celtic squad, Rodgers said: “I think it is going to be an ongoing process, players gaining confidence and players coming in and playing their first games.”

“I thought Marcelo was excellent today and played the role really, really well. Sebastian [Tounekti], you can see he is really good in the one-v-one. So coming and playing their first games, some of the guys and some of those who haven’t played in a little while giving us that energy in the squad as well.”
Rodgers added: “I was happy with the performance. Every metric in the game, I think, we were really dominant. We’ve had a couple of nil-nils in the qualification games where we never really threatened, but I thought today our football was really good.”
“We just lacked that killer instinct in the box,” he said. “From a performance perspective, I can’t be too displeased; we just needed that goal to make the breakthrough.”
“We had big chances, I don’t think there is any doubt about that. It was just that final touch we were lacking. We had 26 attempts in the box but couldn’t find the back of the net, and when we did it was offside.”
Sandman also named Marcelo Saracchi as his Man of the Match in his Definitive Ratings which are up now on The Celtic Star.
Celtic will now have to park their domestic disappointment with Braga heading to Celtic Park on Thursday night in the Europa League.
