The fee is understood to be about €70 million, with the package thought to comprise €60 million fixed and €10 million in add-ons. After several days of negotiations, the clubs are understood to have reached agreement on Monday.

Barcelona marked the announcement with a clock-themed video and a message hailing him as the master of space and time.

Rodri won the 2024 Ballon d'Or and was named the best player at the 2026 World Cup. He previously played in Spain for Atlético Madrid and Villarreal.
