Manchester City faced off against Copenhagen at Parken earlier today as they looked to secure a good result away from home in the UEFA Champions League. The Mancunian giants made a bright start to the game but found themselves at a numerical disadvantage as Sergio Gomez was sent off at the half-hour mark. Man City managed to get into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
The ten men of Man City controlled the game well in the second half but were held to a 0-0 draw after the full-time whistle.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player performed during the clash against FC Copenhagen.
GK: Ederson – 7/10
The Brazilian keeper had to make just one save in the game and earned a solid clean sheet on the road.
RB: Joao Cancelo – 7/10
Cancelo was solid at the back and had some bright moments in the final third. However, there was no goal or assist for him this evening.
CB: Manuel Akanji – 7/10
He didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half and made one key chance going forward.
CB: Aymeric Laporte – 6.5/10
The Spaniard earned the ball back once and was accurate with his passing. He did enough to earn the shutout in the end.
Etihad Stadium
LB: Sergio Gomez – 4/10
He let his teammates down by getting sent off in the 30th minute.
CM: Rodri – 7.5/10
The Spaniard anchored the midfield with conviction and was strong in the air. He even controlled the flow of the game well.
CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 6.5/10
He was a threat going forward but failed to take any of his chances on the attacking end of the pitch.
RW: Riyad Mahrez – 5/10
Mahrez had some bright moments in the game but was replaced in the 32nd minute following Gomez’s dismissal.
CAM: Kevin De Bruyne – 7/10
The Belgian international caused a few headaches for the opposition but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
LW: Jack Grealish – 6.5/10
He made a few decent chances in the final third but lacked quality in front of the opposition goal.
ST: Julian Alvarez – 6/10
Alvarez had a few strikes at goal but never looked like he would score.

He kept things solid at the back.
CM: Bernardo Silva – 6/10
Silva made one good chance in the final third.

The English talent added some creativity to Pep Guardiola’s attack.
