Rodri names Barcelona role model | OneFootball

New Barcelona signing Rodri was quick to highlight the name of a Blaugrana legend as an example following his arrival at the club.

Midfielder Rodri is of course fresh off being unveiled as the latest addition to Hansi Flick’s squad. Following weeks of back-and-forth negotiations between the parties, Manchester City finally gave the green light for Barcelona to close a big-money deal for the 30-year-old on Monday.

Yesterday evening, Rodri, in turn, put pen to paper on contract terms with his new employers in Catalunya’s capital.

From here, the Ballon d’Or winner quickly took his place in front of the media, for a first round of questions after being officially unveiled as a Barca player.

And as alluded to above, in response to one such question, Rodri revealed his appreciation for one of the greatest players to ever don the famed red and blue of the reigning Spanish champions. Drawn on his role models, the midfield standout explained:

“Sergio Busquets has always been a great role model. It’s a privilege that they compare me to him.”
