Barcelona have reached an agreement with Manchester City for Rodri to become their new signing, according to Superdeporte.

Talks were demanding, with City initially asking for a price the Catalans could not meet. Real Madrid had previously been close to securing him, but he will instead join Hansi Flick’s side.

The Ballon d’Or winner will cost 76 million euros in total, 60 fixed and 16.5 in add-ons. The add-ons are split into 11 million considered achievable and 5.5 million that are harder to trigger.

The midfielder is expected to arrive in Barcelona on Monday as final contract details are completed. He will earn 15 million euros net per season, he received 11 at City, according to Marca.

Rodri joined City seven years ago, won numerous trophies under Pep Guardiola, and was crowned Ballon d’Or in October 2024. He began his career at Villarreal, which opened the door to Europe’s elite.
