Simon Rolfes has cooled talk of Karim Benzema joining Bayer Leverkusen, saying “our squad is complete”.

He made the comment when asked by Bild, suggesting there will be no additions for now.

The speculation surfaced on Monday after DZfoot reported there had been contact between the parties.

Benzema then followed Leverkusen’s Instagram account, which further fuelled discussion over a possible move.

With Leverkusen well stocked in his position, the link now appears to be little more than an unreliable rumour.
