Rollheiser praised at Santos and considered a No 10 option | OneFootball

Cuca has highlighted Benjamin Rollheiser’s progress and put him forward as a potential No 10 for Santos. According to Diario Do Peixe, the coach sees the Argentine as a creative option in central areas.

Rollheiser scored for Santos in Saturday’s Brasileirão clássico against Palmeiras at the Allianz. Neymar was rested because of the synthetic pitch.

Cuca said Rollheiser has moved inside from the right, is an organiser, and is playing better each game. After cramp in the previous outing, he lasted longer this time and took responsibility in key moments. The coach stressed Neymar remains a reference point for invention and passing.

This season Rollheiser has four goals in 22 appearances. In the Paulista he featured in eight matches, assisting against Novorizontino and scoring against Velo Clube. In the league he has goals against Palmeiras and twice against Bahia, both penalties, across 11 rounds. He has also played three Copa Sudamericana matches, setting up a goal against San Lorenzo.

Signed in February last year, he was bought from Benfica for 11 million euros, one of the club’s costliest deals. He made 40 appearances last season, scoring three times and adding three assists.
