Roma 2-1 Atalanta, directors in heated post-match confrontation | OneFootball

Roma edged Atalanta 2-1 on Saturday, and tensions spilled over afterwards as Roma sporting director Tony D’Amico and Atalanta chief executive Luca Percassi were involved in an off pitch incident at the Stadio Olimpico.

Atalanta had led for much of the second half before late goals from Matias Soule and Mario Hermoso turned the game. Corriere dello Sport reports that Percassi insulted D’Amico, then pursued him in the stadium car park, before security intervened.

The report added that witnesses, and Roma, corroborated the account.

The pair had worked together for the Bergamo club until last season, and relations are now strained.

Percassi was unhappy with D’Amico’s push to join Roma, even though he had already appointed Cristiano Guintoli. It is believed Percassi was the aggressor, with D’Amico not reacting to the insults.
