Paulo Dybala has chosen to lay down his Roma project with Gian Piero Gasperini, but there’s still no signature on the contract renewal, which expires on June 30th.
The player and the club share the same desire: to extend the agreement on a lower fee and continue working together through the 2026-27 season with the team that will compete in the Champions League.
For the Argentine star, this would be his first time in the Giallorossi jersey, making it a tempting opportunity.
Carlos Novel, the agent of Dybala, is currently in Rome, having flown to Argentina to enjoy her first days of vacation.
His entourage, meanwhile, is seeking a definitive agreement with Ryan Friedkin, who hasn’t been in the capital for two days and is likely also closely involved with the sporting director issue.
The vice president will return to Rome shortly to finalize the agreement for Paulo Dybala’s permanent position.
Gian Piero Gasperini is pushing to finalize the deal between Dybala and Ryan Friedkin. The Giallorossi coach has repeatedly reiterated his desire to continue working with the Argentine star, also looking ahead to next season.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the new contract includes a base of €2-2.5 million, plus performance-related bonuses. However, La Joya’s recent performances have attracted interest from other clubs as well.
There’s talk from England of a possible move from Tottenham. In short, Roma must act quickly to avoid unexpected developments, especially since the Argentine wants to stay in the capital and the club is banking on him.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Dybala is expected to sign a two-year contract (2028) with an option for a further season in the club’s favor. The agreement is complete, but some details need to be ironed out regarding the financial aspect: a deal around €3 million is possible.
