Roma are making progress in their talks with Gian Piero Gasperini.

The Atalanta coach has sent an unequivocal message: “Everyone wants to coach Roma, like the national team”.

A strong opening, which could turn into something concrete in the coming months.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, contacts between the coach and the Roman club are on-going.

Gasperini seems to be the top candidate for the Giallorossi bench: the capital club value his offensive football, player development and careful management of the budget.

On the table there is a multi-year contract, of five years, with the guarantee of ample initial protection to get the project off the ground.

Gasperini, moreover, would find several well-known faces in Rome, from Dybala, coached in his time at Palermo, to Mancini, Cristante and Gollini, who got started with him in Bergamo.

Without forgetting El Shaarawy, a player he has always respected and who in the past he would have liked to bring to Atalanta.
