Roma are optimistic about signing Rodrigo Mora from Porto, but their plans don’t stop there, as they have set their sights on Luis Henrique and Destiny Udogie to address their wingback positions. They want another reliable piece despite recently acquiring Nahuel Molina. If they acquired the latter, Inter would have more ammo to go after Djed Spence.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the capital club is ready to table an important bid for the Brazilian, €25/30M. The Nerazzurri will ponder it attentively. Parting ways with him would force them to sign two wing-backs. They have had issues securing one. The negotiation for Moussa Diaby has quickly ground to a halt again.
Roma are tracking Henrique also because of his versatility, as he’s played in more attacking roles in the past, while Udogie is a left-wing specialist and a fallback at the moment.
Conversely, the Italian champions have rekindled their interest in Spence, who was one of their early top targets after missing out on Marco Palestra. The deal could come together this time if the request was below €40M, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta).
The former could use a change of scenery, and he’d be a fine gamble in Gian Piero Gasperini’s system, but only if his price tag isn’t large, as he was underwhelming to say the least for most of last season. He could indeed spare the Giallorossi another signing, given his traits. As for the Englishman, it was pretty odd that the Nerazzurri seemingly gave up so easily the first time around, as he ticks a lot of the boxes they usually seek in their signings.
