Roma in talks with free agent Nikola Maksimovic

Roma are in talks with former Genoa and Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic.

Maksimovic is now a free agent and discussing a contract with the Giallorossi, says La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Roma have made their move after Marash Kumbulla suffered an injury setback.

Maksimovic first arrived for Torino in 2013, then moved to Napoli, had a very brief six-months spell at Spartak Moscow and joined Genoa in 2021.

Maksimovic has 146 Serie A appearances under his belt, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
