Serie A side Roma have received an update on Gianluca Mancini’s injury.
According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Mancini has suffered a lesion to the right adductor following tests conducted on the player today.
The Italian defender was taken off the pitch after sustaining a knock during the Giallorossi’s match against Inter yesterday.
The 29-year-old is set to be sidelined for at least 2-3 weeks, and his recovery will be assessed to determine his return. Mancini can be predicted to rejoin the squad ahead of the game with Fiorentina next month. As things stand, he will miss the clashes versus Pisa, Atalanta and Bologna, which are scheduled for this month.
Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini replaced Mancini with Daniele Ghilardi in the 5-2 defeat to the Nerazzurri. Dropped points from the match mean Roma now sit 6th in the standings, exposed to 7th-placed Atalanta, who can overtake them if results stay favourable elsewhere next matchday.
