Roma is preparing to shift gears ahead of the winter transfer window.
The need to intervene in the transfer market is a priority for Sporting Director Frederic Massara, caught between Gian Piero Gasperini’s demands for immediate reinforcements and the complexity of high-profile international negotiations.
While the focus of the Giallorossi transfer market remains on the attack, with Joshua Zirkzee and Giacomo Raspadori at the top of the wish list, the last few hours have sparked a new front in defence.
Not only Disasi and Dragusin are on Massara’s radar, but a new name has emerged from the Super Lig to be explored while awaiting the start of the winter transfer window.
According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Roma have been in contact with Jayden Oosterwolde’s entourage.
The 2001-born Dutch defender currently playing for Fenerbahçe is on his way out of the Turkish club, with a departure virtually guaranteed for next summer.
Massara has decided to move ahead, testing the waters to determine the feasibility of a deal valued at around €15 million.
His versatility and youth are a perfect fit for Gasperini’s technical plan and could offer a refreshing alternative for the defense.
