Roma officially began the new season with the players gathering at Trigoria for their summer training camp, but Gian Piero Gasperini is still waiting for reinforcements from the transfer market.
The Giallorossi coach reportedly asked the club to accelerate incoming transfers to complete a squad that, after many years of waiting, will also face the Champions League.
The initial priority is the attacking wingers, considered one of the key positions in need of strengthening.
However, the management is also working on the midfield, an area of the pitch that could undergo significant changes in the coming weeks.
Among the players being monitored by the club’s management, led by new sporting director Tony D’Amico, are several international names. Roma are reportedly evaluating Botafogo’s Danilo Santos and Monaco’s Lamine Camara, as well as Arne Engels, a Belgian midfielder who has been on the club’s radar for several weeks. Engels’ name is attracting increasing interest on the European market.
The Belgian midfielder is also being closely monitored by Nottingham Forest, who have reportedly identified him as a potential replacement for Elliot Anderson, who moved to Manchester City for a fee of approximately €135 million.
According to Belgian news outlet Voetbalkrant, Roma is reportedly preparing an initial official offer to submit to the player’s entourage in an attempt to beat out the competition.
