With June 30th, the key date for fulfilling the settlement agreement, past, Roma will focus on the incoming transfer market.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s priority is Mason Greenwood, the player who could significantly elevate the Giallorossi’s attack.
The English winger has been involved in 49 goals for Marseille over the last two seasons: stellar numbers that Gasperini hopes can be maintained or increased with the Roman club.
However, the player isn’t just popular with Roma, who will need to submit a convincing offer to OM in the coming hours.
Roma isn’t pursuing Greenwood alone. The Giallorossi club also faces the ambitions of Fenerbahçe, which has significant financial resources and is pressing for the player and OM.
As Corriere dello Sport reports, Tony D’Amico has reportedly reassured the 2001-born player, patiently waiting for negotiations between Roma and Marseille to unravel.
The French club has announced that an official offer for Greenwood has not yet arrived from Italy, but he already has an agreement with the Giallorossi.
The player has simply been asked to wait until the first week of July and resist the temptation of the richer contract offered by Fenerbahçe (7.5 instead of 4.5).
