Serie A side Roma saw Wesley impress in the 2025/26 campaign and the wing-back is already attracting interest from clubs in England.
This isn’t new for the Brazilian, who picked up an injury two weeks ago this ruled him out of contention to feature at the World Cup.
Now, La Gazzetta dello Sport – via Tuttomercatoweb, report that interest from England has risen once again. Despite rumours surrounding their stance, Roma do not want to pay heed to this at this point of the window.
As a result, they have issued an immediate response and have rejected these approaches from English sides. They have decided to keep the player beyond this season, despite financial concerns.
Roma are under pressure from FFP to make sales, as of now. But it feels like they have other players in the squad who can leave.
Besides, Wesley joined for a significant amount and his exit will not hand them as much of a capital gain as Manu Kone’s exit will or Jan Ziolkowski’s exit. That is why the move makes sense.
