Roma received some good news from Stephan El Shaarawy, as it seems his injury is not as bad as previously thought.
The veteran winger limped off during the first half of Sunday’s 1-1 Serie A draw away to Monza with a muscular issue.
There were concerns he had suffered a calf strain, which would’ve ruled him out for three to four weeks.
However, Sky Sport Italia report that tests today showed there are no lesions to the muscle in his left calf.
It is hoped that El Shaarawy can therefore recover during the break for international duty and be back in action for the Serie A showdown with Inter.
That is scheduled for October 20 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
The ‘Little Pharaoh’ turns 32 later this month and has made six competitive appearances for Roma this season between Serie A and the Europa League, contributing one assist.
He has 32 senior Italy caps, in which he scored seven goals.
