The match between Corinthians and Mirassol was marked by another return of midfielder Roni to the Neo Química Arena, where he began his professional career. Earlier this year, Timão permanently transferred the player to the interior club due to a lack of space in the current squad.

Before transferring, Roni experienced ups and downs at Corinthians but recalled the support of the fans in the mixed zone after last Saturday's match. “I think age, just like for every human being, gives us experience, helps us make better decisions, and shortcuts in life. The fans always supported me. There was a difficult time when I suffered a lot, couldn't sleep well, received a lot of criticism, but I also had very good moments. The fans always gave me strength during tough times, and I also had happy moments here“

Last year, he was loaned to Atlético-GO and managed to gain experience he didn't have at Corinthians. With his performances, he was transferred to Mirassol without involving any fees. His current contract with Leão runs until the end of 2026.

“Sometimes, it's necessary to make a decision, and I decided to go to Atlético Goianiense on loan. The opportunity to come to Mirassol arose, which was very good. There were many midfielders here, and I knew it would be a bit more difficult for me, so I made another decision“, said the midfielder.

Roni experienced a “strange” feeling upon arriving at the Neo Química Arena. After so many years entering the stadium as a Corinthians player, he had to use the visitor's locker room. Additionally, he took the opportunity to chat with one of the alvinegra promises, striker Gui Negão.

“When I arrived by bus, I walked through the corridor and saw that the Corinthians locker room was on the left, and I had to go to the right. The feeling is strange. I spent my whole life here, but I even liked it. Today I went for doping and stayed there with Gui Negão. I talked to the kid — good guy, phenomenon — rooting for their happiness. As someone born and raised at Corinthians, I wish the boys to be very happy, prosper, and help the club. I only wish him success“, emphasized the player.

After the victory and securing a rise in the standings, Corinthians will have ten days of rest before facing Santos, after the FIFA date. The Alvinegro Classic takes place only on October 15, at Vila Belmiro.
