Coach Bakker's Rossonere drew 2-2 at Lazio in a game full of twists and turns. Trailing at half-time after Le Bihan's opener, they hit back in the second half with Kamczyk scoring her first AC Milan goal, followed by Soffia's strike to make it 2-1. However, Lazio snatched a late equaliser through Karczewska on the counter. The positive for the Rossonere is that they halted a run of two consecutive defeats, but there's still disappointment at missing out on a crucial win.
After a quiet first half with few ideas, the Rossonere's second-half response was very impressive, as they turned the game around and played far better than their opponents. It was a shame, as mentioned, that a counter-attack led to the late leveller. The point earned in Rome takes our girls to 21 points, and while the Champions League spots are now a little further away, they can look ahead to a big fixture against Juventus after the mid-March break - an opportunity to get back in the race and create a real chance for themselves.

MATCH REPORT It was a tough first half for the Rossonere, who struggled to build play and get the ball to their attacking focal point, Ewelina Kamczyk. Grassadonia's Lazio opted for a high press, making it difficult for Bakker's side to move forward. In the opening 45 minutes, they managed only two attempts on goal, from Arrigoni and Mascarello late in the half, without really troubling Lazio goalkeeper Durante. The hosts opened the scoring shortly after the half-hour mark, when Le Bihan embarked on a solo run, cutting inside onto her left foot and curling the ball past Giuliani. The Rossonere responded in the second half, starting with early efforts from Renzotti and Mascarello.
The equaliser came in the 55th minute, with Kamczyk scoring her first goal for the Rossonere: Ewelina pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted it home with her right foot. AC Milan were now completely dominating proceedings and took the lead in the 65th minute: Soffia converted Mascarello's cross from the right to make it 2-1 to the Rossonere. The match seemed under control until the 82nd minute, when a slip by Cernoia allowed Lazio to launch a counter-attack that was finished by former Rossonera Karczewska. In the closing stages, there were plenty of mistakes and open spaces. Dompig and Cernoia both had attempts, while Giuliani made two crucial saves. The game ended in a draw.
