Ilay Camara made his comeback to competitive action on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Lotto Park during Anderlecht's narrow 1-0 victory over Gent. The midfielder played the final eleven minutes of the match after a long spell on the sidelines due to a muscle injury.

The 22-year-old Senegalese defender rejoined Anderlecht's first team after missing several league and European fixtures. After suffering a hamstring injury on August 7 against Sheriff Tiraspol, Ilay Camara was forced off during the first half. Medical tests in the following days confirmed he would be out for several weeks. The RSCA medical staff opted for a cautious approach to his recovery to avoid any risk of recurrence.

Gradual return to the squad rotation

Named on the bench for the rescheduled Jupiler Pro League matchday eight fixture, Camara was brought on late in the game by Besnik Hasi. The Brussels coach made several tactical adjustments, particularly in defense, introducing Camara and Llansana in the closing stages.
