According to Superdeporte, Rubén Iranzo is leaving Valencia and will sign for Real Zaragoza on a free transfer, with Valencia keeping a percentage of any future sale. The agreement will take him to La Romareda on a three-season contract.
The Picanya-born defender is departing his boyhood set-up for the first time in his career. He will travel to Aragón in the coming days.
Zaragoza’s task is to return to professional football, and at the club the only aim is promotion to Segunda División. Under that pressure, Iranzo will try to win a starting place and become a key figure.
Last season he sought an exit when Celta Promesas made an offer and Valencia were not backing him. The club blocked the move due to a shortage of defenders and his ability to play at centre-back and full-back.
He stayed and saw little game time. This year, the situation is different.
