Real Madrid veteran Antonio Rüdiger has retired from Germany duty following the 2026 World Cup.
The 33-year-old confirmed the decision in an Instagram post on Tuesday, saying it was time to make way for younger players.

He recalled first wearing the DFB shirt in 2014 and reaching 86 caps, noting painful defeats at recent tournaments but describing the spell as unforgettable.
Rüdiger also thanked team-mates, coaches and fans for their support in his message.
