According to O Jogo, the Portuguese federation’s disciplinary council has fined FC Porto team manager Rui Correia and Benfica assistant coach Ricardo Rocha after their expulsions in the clássico on 20 September.
Porto won 3-1.
Correia must pay €570, while Rocha was handed a €2,040 fine.
The sanctions report said both men were dismissed solely for a mutual confrontation outside their technical areas, which required third parties to separate them. It stated that such direct physical contact between opposing teams’ officials was, in itself, enough for a red card.
It added that it was not possible to specify the words used by either participant during the incident.
