A total of 2082 members were to be recognised, and he described it as one of the club’s most meaningful gatherings, celebrating loyalty handed down through generations.

On the sporting front, he reaffirmed the ambition to win wherever Benfica are competing. Acknowledging the season has not gone as desired, he assured members the team will fight for the championship until the end, targeting a 39th title with all their strength.

He ended by stressing that Benfica is its Benfiquistas, above all its members, who keep the club alive from generation to generation.
