Rui Costa is moving to reward Gianluca Prestianni with a sizeable pay rise and a new contract after a strong finish to last season and an impressive start to 2026/27.
O Jogo reports the plan involves an improved salary for the Argentine and an extension to his deal, which currently runs to 2029.
Signed for €9.5 million, the 20-year-old is now valued far higher and only an offer deemed irresistible would put his status at Luz in doubt.
After serving a two-match ban for an incident involving Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior last season, Prestianni returned in style. Against Hearts he scored, won a penalty and was involved in several dangerous moments.
His form had already shown in pre-season, with an assist against Villarreal and two goals against Belenenses. The No 25’s impact has pleased the Benfica hierarchy.
