Ruiz appointed Brighton Women head coach on deal to 2029 | OneFootball

Arturo Ruiz has been appointed head coach of Brighton’s women, succeeding Dario Vidosic.

According to TheArgus.co.uk, the 29-year-old has signed a contract until 2029 and will join once his work permit is finalised.

Ruiz previously led Granada and Real Sociedad, guiding the latter to third place and Champions League qualification last season.

He also worked at Atletico Madrid and had a spell as interim head coach of their senior women’s side.

Zoe Johnson, managing director for women and girls, said he impressed during recruitment, has a record of developing teams and individuals, and will have full support as final preparations for the new WSL season are made.

Sporting director Mike Cave called Ruiz a talented young coach who improves teams and players, adding that his leadership and philosophy excite the club.

Brighton moved quickly after confirming Vidosic’s departure this morning and begin the WSL season at home to Arsenal next Sunday.
