Gerónimo Rulli couldn’t be happier to have returned to City.

Alvarez seal of approval for Rulli’s City move

The Argentine goalkeeper has rejoined the Blues, subject to international clearance, after first signing in 2016.

He was then loaned out to Real Sociedad – a deal that became permanent in January 2017.

Now he is looking forward to a more productive second spell with the Club.

“I feel amazing. This is what I was waiting for. For me, being part of the family of Manchester City – it means a lot to me,” said Rulli.

“I can’t wait to start with the team; I can’t wait to be in the Etihad Stadium for the first time. I feel, in this moment, amazing.”

Asked what the major appeal of once again being a Manchester City player – however brief his first stay was - he replied: “Everything. For me, when you say Manchester City, you see one of the best clubs in the world. In the moment you hear your name with Man City is something that I can’t describe. It’s one of, if not the best teams in the world. It was an easy decision.

“[My experience] is really important because at the end, at a club like this it always demands your best. Physically, mentally, I think I am really prepared to the challenge. I feel like I come in the best moment of my life, my career and I feel in my best shape, also. I cannot wait to start and show everything.

“Each country, each place I’ve been, I took a little bit of each of them. I try to learn something in each place I’ve been.

“This place also will be the same also, I will try my best. I always say the same. Each place I’ve been, I try to be my best shape. I always try to be my 100% or even more.

“This will be the same here. I know it’s the best place in the world, so I’m really excited to play with.

“I think one of my best attributes is how I can read the game. I feel this is something I do very well, I think. I try to be calm and to show everyone the confidence and trust in each player.

“My biggest attribute is this, I try to prevent the goals with saves. This is one of my best attributes.”

Rulli is looking forward to competing, supporting and training with our current keepers Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marcus Bettinelli.

The 34-year-old, capped eight times by Argentina, says he is relishing the prospect.

“This is one of the best challenges I’ve had in my career because I’ve had really nice players by my side,” he said.

“I will watch everything from both; I want to learn and of course I want the best for this club.

“It will be really nice to share the team with them, to share the training with them. I’m really excited to play with them.”
