Michael Olise inspires at FC Bayern – and there is internal consensus: selling the attacking star is not an option

Michael Olise is currently one of the outstanding players at FC Bayern and regularly generates enthusiasm with his performances. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has now also spoken at length about the Frenchman – and sent a clear message about possible transfer rumours

In an interview with t-online, the former CEO praised the attacking player in particular: „He’s a wonderful player. I also like the fact that he’s so reserved and almost media-shy. That’s the exception in today’s world. He’s a good guy and on the pitch he’s naturally outstanding in the way he celebrates soccer and almost performs magic.“ So it’s no wonder that Olise is „incredibly popular and hyped“ with the fans, according to Rummenigge

Clear Bayern line for top players

Rummenigge was particularly clear when asked about a possible mega-bid for the 24-year-old. There has been repeated speculation that top international clubs could offer sums in excess of 200 million euros. For FC Bayern, however, this is irrelevant

Rummenigge referred to a fundamental decision from the past: „I’ll tell you a story from the past now.“ This refers to an offer from Chelsea FC for Franck Ribéry in 2009, which would have set a new world transfer record at the time

Bayern nevertheless decided against a sale – and thus laid down a clear line: „That we will not sell a player in the future that we would miss in sporting terms.“ This principle still applies today. With regard to Olise, Rummenigge made it unmistakably clear: „And this unwritten law still applies today. There is no price tag for a player like Olise that would make us flinch.“

The 70-year-old thus underlines the stance of those responsible, who have already emphasized on several occasions that a sale of the attacking star is out of the question

Olise as a key player for the future

Since moving to FC Bayern, Olise has quickly developed into a central component of Vincent Kompany’s team. With his creativity, technique and goalscoring ability, he takes Munich’s attacking play to a new level

Rummenigge’s statements thus fit into the overall picture: FC Bayern does not see Olise as a sales candidate, but as a key player for the coming years. Even possible record offers do not change this

The message from Munich is clear: sporting success is more important than financial incentives – and players like Olise are indispensable for this.
