Teenager Ryan Gravenberch reacted to Ajax’s KNVB Cup final win over Vitesse by declaring that he wants to remain at the club.

The 18-year-old Ajax midfielder opened the scoring at De Kuip before Loïs Openda levelled on the half-hour mark.

Vitesse defender Jacob Rasmussen was sent off four minutes from time.

That helped the Amsterdam side to secure their 20th success in the competition courtesy of David Neres’ injury-time winner.

Gravenberch’s form for Erik ten Hag’s men has attracted the interest of several top European clubs.

However, the graduate of Ajax’s famed academy feels he is best served for now by remaining with the Dutch giants.

“I really want to stay with Ajax. I have to develop even more. When I am ready, then I am ready, but not yet,” Gravenberch told ESPN.

Sunday’s victory saw Gravenberch collect the second KNVB Cup winners’ medal of his fledgling career.

He is also on track to lift the Eredivisie title for a second time, with Ajax enjoying a commanding 11-point lead at the top of the table with just six games to play.
