According to Wales Online, Welcome to Wrexham has been renewed for three more seasons, the show's first multi-season order, taking it through 2029 and eight seasons in total.
Ryan Reynolds told his 50 million Instagram followers that season five premieres on 14 May and celebrated the renewal, crediting the town, the club and the documentary team.
Reynolds and Rob McElhenney said the rare commission was possible because of their Emmy-winning production team and Wrexham's rise, and they thanked FX for its continued support to keep telling the story.
FX Entertainment president Nick Grad said the series has had a bigger impact on the club and the town than expected, and that the renewal reflects the pair's vision and their bond with fans around the world.
The series launched in 2022 after the actors bought Wrexham for £2m in February 2021, and it has since won 10 Emmy Awards and two Critics' Choice Television Awards.
They have taken the team from the National League to the Championship, directly below the Premier League. Wrexham sit just outside the play-offs, with a top-six finish offering a shot at promotion at the season's end. Manager Phil Parkinson said last year that their involvement lifts the place.
