At 32, Ryan Williams has renounced his Australian nationality to represent India, the country of his maternal roots. The forward says he wants to help the sport grow there.

According to L'Équipe, he is set to face Brazil on Saturday at 16:00, live on its Live Foot service, and he says he does not regret the decision.

Born in Perth, he left home at 16 to pursue professional football and built most of his career in Australia and England. Initially, changing national team was not in his plans.
