William Saliba has not played for Arsenal this season, and his last action on the pitch came in the opening minutes of the World Cup semi-final between France and Spain.
The defender was injured during that game, and a back problem he had been dealing with for some time eventually prevented him from continuing. Arsenal subsequently gave him more time to recover after he was told that he did not need surgery.
In his absence, the Gunners signed Ezri Konsa, and the team has continued to perform well as they look to ensure they have another successful season.
However, there is no doubt that Saliba is one of the world-class players in their team. If fit, the defender will return to the starting line-up alongside Gabriel at the back, but the question remains over when he will be ready to play again.
Metro Sport reports that the Frenchman has started running again, and he is now expected to be fit and back in action for the Gunners in November.
Saliba is beginning to take on more work as he continues his recovery, which represents another positive step towards his return. In the coming weeks, he is expected to join team training and begin preparing for an official return to matches.
His gradual return to training will be closely monitored as Arsenal look to ensure he is ready to compete again after spending an extended period on the sidelines.

Saliba has now had enough time to recover from his back problem and refresh himself ahead of a busy seasonal schedule. His eventual return will give Arsenal another important defensive option as the campaign continues.
The defender is expected to play an important role for the Gunners once he is fully fit, particularly given his established position alongside Gabriel in the heart of the defence.
For now, Saliba will continue building up his workload before returning to full team training. Arsenal will hope that his recovery continues without setbacks and that he can return to competitive action in November as expected.
