On Sunday’s match: “Like in Rome, where we started well but after 15 minutes they really improved. At that point, however, we knew what to do; our goal was not to concede. We made a few poor exits, many poor passes, that’s true. Allegri often says that the result can depend on a single incident… Allegri changes your mind.”

On the boos at the Olimpico: “I was really disappointed to be greeted like that at the Olimpico. I can understand the fans, but when I play for a team I never hold back, so I have nothing to reproach myself for.”

“At Roma, I gave so much and received so much. In the summer, we took other paths because certain situations arose.”

On Ranieri: “Motta was ideal for that Bologna, for that team. Ranieri was ideal for that Roma. I imagine that by switching coaches, they would have done equally well, but I’m not so sure. Motta was all about tactics and hard work: twelve hours on the pitch, ideal for that Bologna. Ranieri at Roma was all about goals.”
