Regional One side Saint-Cyr-Collonges will bank about €143,000 net from their Coupe de France campaign and gate receipts from the round of 64 tie against Olympique Lyonnais, roughly half of their usual €280,000 annual budget, according to L'Équipe.

The Monts d’Or club enjoyed a memorable night at Groupama Stadium, unsettling Lyon for a half before losing 0-3 after the interval.

The windfall includes €43,000 in federation prize money plus close to €100,000 from the match at Décines in front of 25,000 spectators. Lyon honoured their commitment to their amateur neighbours by sharing a third of the receipts.

Club president Hassane Baba-Arbi said the experience felt like winning everything except the match, and that playing at Groupama Stadium and the income would do the club a great deal of good.

The money will help stabilise finances for a club with five employees, including three apprentices. The next steps are to bolster youth development, a pillar of the club’s project, and to build a sport-study programme.
