Lucas Stassin (22) will not face a second consecutive season in Ligue 2. The Belgium international is set to complete a switch to Sevilla, as per a report from L’Équipe.

Stassin shone in his one and only season in Ligue 1 with Les Verts, following a €10m move from KVC Westerlo in the summer of 2024. However, it was a season that ended in relegation, and, despite Stassin integrating the Belgium set-up, he surprisingly made the drop to the second tier, instead of securing a move away. After Saint-Étienne failed to secure promotion at the first time of asking, he had looked set for a second season in the second division.

The striker was absent from ASSE’s 3-2 win over Dijon on Monday night and he is now set to complete a move away. He has been authorised to travel to complete a move to Sevilla. It is a paid loan worth €2.5m. The La Liga side also have the option to make the move permanent for €25m at the end of the season.
