The 22-year-old Nigerian striker made his mark in Croatia with 15 goals in 64 matches, and his move to the Czech Republic could push the transfer fee up to nearly €3 million with bonuses included. NK Istra will also retain a percentage from any future resale.

Arriving in Europe in the summer of 2023 from Mavlon, Lawal has enjoyed a swift rise and was even called up to Nigeria's national team for the latest Africa Cup of Nations, where he won a bronze medal.
