Salma Paralluelo, 22, joins Lyon on four-year deal after sprinting rise

The versatile 22-year-old forward has signed for Lyon on a four-year deal after years balancing high-level athletics with football.

She wanted to follow her football‑mad brothers, yet as a teenager she also lit up the track, particularly in the sprints. «Vous ne savez pas ce que l’athlétisme a perdu. J’espère qu’on se...», said Félix Laguna, speaking to L’Équipe in July 2025.

Laguna coached her from 14 to 18, and predictions based on her teenage exploits suggested she could have become a prominent figure in European athletics, especially in sprinting.

Instead, she chose football, hoping to shine just as brightly.

Her contract commits her to Lyon for the next four seasons.
