Salma Paralluelo has signed for Lyon on a free transfer, agreeing a contract until 2030. The 22-year-old Spanish forward’s summer saga ends in Lyon rather than London or Paris.
The club announced on Saturday that Paralluelo is their fourth and final recruit of the window after refusing to extend with European champions Barcelona.
She follows goalkeeper Maria Luisa Grohs from Bayern Munich, midfielder Caroline Weir from Real Madrid and winger Johanna Rytting Kaneryd from Chelsea. Kadidiatou Diani has departed to London City Lionesses.
A versatile attacker with acceleration and close control, Paralluelo can operate across the front line. Deployed centrally in the Oslo final, she struck two and set up another in Barça’s 4-0 win over Lyon, securing her third Champions League title after 2023 and 2024.
She scored 72 goals in 131 for Barcelona and is regarded as a credible future Ballon d’Or contender. At 19 she was player of the tournament at the 2023 World Cup, won 15 titles in four seasons at Barcelona and took the 2022 Puskás Award.
She remains a high-ceiling talent with room to refine.
In the Rhône she will reunite with Jonatan Giráldez, who launched her in Catalonia. It is her first move abroad, she feels ready, knows Jona well and aims to keep winning, hoping for success while continuing to improve.
