Sam Lammers supplies two as FC Twente stay fourth

FC Twente beat Volendam 2-1 on Friday in Enschede to stay fourth in the Eredivisie.

In the second minute, Ruud Nijstad swept in Sam Lammers' headed pass from a corner. Kristian Hlynsson then tucked in after another Lammers assist (34.).

Kayne van Oevelen kept Volendam alive with sharp saves either side of the break, while Ricky van Wolfswinkel also struck the post early on for the hosts.

After changes, Robert Muhren and Nordin Bukala gave the visitors a spark, and Bukala pulled one back from Muhren's pass (74.).

Lars Unnerstall denied Anthony Descotte late in the first half and saved from Benjamin Pauwels twice in the closing stages to preserve the points.

FC Twente registered 23 attempts and 57.8% possession. Volendam produced eight attempts.
