Achraf Bencherki & Marwan Attia seal another Red triumph as Al Ahly dominate the 2025 Egyptian Super Cup final

Same city, same story — Al Ahly reign supreme once more in the Cairo Derby
Al Ahly reaffirmed their dominance in Egyptian football defeating arch-rivals Zamalek 2-0 on Sunday evening to lift the 2025 Egyptian Super Cup title at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The victory marks Al Ahly’s 16th Super Cup triumph extending their record tally and securing their fifth consecutive title in the competition.
The deadlock was broken in the 44 minute when Achraf Bencharki facing his former side for the first time since joining Al Ahly in June, latched onto perfectly weighted lofted pass from Ahmed Sayed "Zizo".
It was Bencherki’s second goal against Zamalek since leaving the White Castle having scored in league encounter last season.
Zamalek began the second half brightly after introducing Juan Bezerra & Seifeddine Jaziri but their control of possession failed to translate into real chances.
On swift counterattack in the 72 minute, Marwan Attia doubled Al Ahly’s advantage.
Zamalek thought they had pulled one back in the 80 minute when Jaziri bundled the ball into the net after rare mistake from Mohamed El Shenawy but the goal was disallowed after VAR review showed clear handball in the buildup.
With the victory, Al Ahly cement their legacy as Egypt’s undisputed powerhouse:
Ceramica Cleopatra claimed third place earlier in the day defeating Pyramids FC 2-1.
The 2025 edition marked the 23 Egyptian Super Cup and the ninth time the event has been hosted in the United Arab Emirates — a venue that has become lucky charm for Al Ahly who have now won all four final played there since 2015.
