Samir Nasri is under investigation by the French tax authorities, who suspect he lives in Paris despite being officially tax-resident in Dubai, Les Échos reports.
Officials have examined the former Arsenal and Marseille midfielder’s lifestyle and concluded he spent more time in France than in the United Arab Emirates in recent years. He owns a property in Paris.
One detail proved especially telling, the Canal+ pundit placed 212 Deliveroo food orders in Paris in 2022.
The potential consequences are substantial. He could face a tax adjustment of 5.51 million euros, including 5.25 million euros in income tax for 2020-2022 and 82,000 euros related to real estate wealth tax for 2019 to 2025.
The authorities have sought a judicial mortgage over his Paris apartment and the seizure of some bank accounts to secure payment. Nasri disputes the allegations.
