Samu Aghehowa weighs up surgery for ACL rupture, seeks second opinion

Samu Aghehowa suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the 1-1 draw between FC Porto and Sporting and already knows he will need surgery, although he has not yet decided where the procedure will take place. The Spanish forward traveled to his home country in search of a second opinion.

Samu, 21, will not compete again until the end of the season and will also miss the 2026 World Cup. This is his second season at Dragão: in 2025/26 he has played 32 games, scored 20 goals, and provided one assist. His contract with FC Porto ends in 2029.
