Samu set for recovery now, but won’t play for FC Porto again this season

FC Porto announced that Samu underwent surgery on his right knee following a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament. The Spanish forward will miss the rest of the season with the Dragons and will also be absent from the 2026 World Cup:

«Samu successfully underwent surgery for a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The surgical procedure took place in Madrid and was performed by Dr. Manuel Leyes – in direct coordination and with the constant support of FC Porto's medical team -, with no complications reported. The Spanish international forward will now begin the usual recovery process under the care of the Health Department at CTFD Jorge Costa», wrote the blue and white club.
